exploits in auckland

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

wow.so it’s been a week.so much has happened i can’t even remember the details.so,i’m gonna try my best to pen the few prominent memories down for YOUR reading pleasure~

so monday comes by.so i meet th oh-so-dreamy phsio dude to kick start the day with(it feels so great to start the day with being flirtatious, who needs coffee!).i dunno what to do with this boy la.he’s like more mengada then me ok.but then again, mengadeness is subjective, therefore i could just be mistaking his friendliness as flirtation, right?so after i got my dose of "TLC" for the morning,i run off to my first class.lecturer is very comel too(damn it,every other person here is potential eye candy…argh!!!!!).after that class,i had another class, then a long break till the last class.being very bored and slightly curious as to how lady luck has mapped out my stars,i pooped back into the physio office for a lil more TLC to end the day…hehehhe…lets just say,i let the dramaqueen in me out a bit la   ;)
tuesday, signed up for a couple of clubs,UMSA,UMNO,rock climbing, drama club..got la a few.classes as usual, nothing interesting happened in between.but, the highlight of the day was rock climbing night.the RC club held a free try out that night so me,di n firuz went to try.ok,not only r the instructors SOOOO the comelteds, but they are like so baik and super melayan.being the idiot that i am,i signed up for this thing even though i know i’m afraid of heights.so me and diba both decided to scale this relatively easy but very tall wall(8m).so di goes first and i go second.while climbing i don’t feel anything,i’m just looking at the wall.but i looked over my shoulder to tell di something.that’s when i realised how high i was and i started freaking out.lets just say,the gym was very noisy that night.later,i tried climbing all the way to the top and when i got so exhausted and scared i started hyper ventilating.I’VE NEVER HYPER VENTILATED BEFORE!!!!!!so basically i made a fool of myself in front of all the hot guys la.but at the end of the day,i kinda redeemed myself when i finally scaled to the top of that damned wall.haahahaha.was good!!!!!
wednesday, nothing much la.classes like normal during the day.linguistics was fun!had an appointement with James aka hot physio guy.again lots of mengade2ness on my side la.left the clinic very happy  :)  that night, the girls and i went for the outdoor shakespeare play, the merchant of venice.was good, despite the fact that half the time, two of the lead actors kept making out very NOISILY.it was quite hard to focus on the play whenever they were on stage.all and all,it was a god production.
thursday, went on a shopping apree.my first, mind u that!got la a lot of stuff.not SO cheap but its good quality stuff.very happy.got to sneak james into the day too..hehehehe….damn it,i wonder if theres any regulation about staff and student relations(hips)    :D
tomorrow, gonna meet james again.thinking of what to wear.planning what to say.i don’t think i’ve ever fallen for my phiotherapist before.oh well.there’s always a first time.

so far

ok.so yesterday i met my dr mcdreamy aka physiotherapist hottie. he said my foot needs a lil more TLC so he’s gonna keep it in bandages over the weekend and i’ll have to see him again on Monday,so yeay!(damn it,the weekend is gonna feel like forever!!!!).
settleling in ok.so far i’ve missed a couple of the orientation events but no biggie la.i was kinda bummed that i couldn’t do the hongi(i think thats how its spelt,it’s the whole nose rubbing Maori thing)
no plans for the weekend.got a bbq down at some bay but i dont think i’m gonna go la.might make bruschettas tomorrow and try some of allie’s ass-kicking ginger chicken.i like it that i’m in the kitchen more now.it’s fun when u cook for yourself.railway campus is a really awesome place to stay la.it’s close by to lots of nice places and the facilities are quite good.only problem is the pots and pans supplied suck.but can always just buy new ones right?
so far i’m living of pasta, pita pockets and spare food my friends cooked.not exactly luxurious but this is the students life right?
our game room has a foos ball table, ping pong table and snooker table.not bad recreation rite.theres a gym(which i’m yet to check out).apparently got pools nearby but it’s supposedly freezing even in the summer.
i’ve spent the past two days in doors.i’m feling fat and very lazy.thats never good.DAMN IT,I WANT TO START WALKING AGAIN!!!!!   T.T  huhuhuhuh

kia ora from aotearoa

wow!to think i’m here already is quite mind blowing.
Auckland is beautiful, slightly chilly, but still a great place to be.
i’ve been in Auckland for exactly 6 days. so far i’ve had lots of up’s and down’s(literally)
so here are the highlights!
1)ariving at Auckland and having to deal with lost luggage.ome of the girls in my group did not receive their lugage on arrival.so i had to fix that problem, since i as like penolong ketua, which is Azam.luckily, the luggages arrives the next day.

2)walking around campus and exploring auckland.ok,here’s the up’s and downs part.there’s a SUPER DUPER STEEP hill that i have to HIKE up EVERYDAY to get to classes.one side of me is saying "yea, atleast i won’t have to go to the gym to get a workout".the other side, particularly the area around the leg/thigh muscles region is screaming "lord, have mercy on our soles".thankfully,we can find supermarkets and shopping areas that are NOT located up a hill.food town is my current fav lepak joint.

3)checking into the loft.my new residence for the next year, atleast.i might decide to extend to the next year if i can book it.its a great apartment and i get a queen sized bed all to myself.how cool right?but it’s damn pricey.guess this means i’ll have to get a job

4)cooking.this was actually fun coz everybody in the kitchen didnt really kno what we were doing but we just did it anyway.and the food turned out pretty yummy too.so,no harm done.

5)yan.from germany.we met in the kitchen.he made rice, veggies and chicken.it was my second night ;)

6)eeting the US girls.met a group of them in the kitchen and we started hanging out after the BBQ(which was a big stinker, sad to say.but the food was awesome!)nice bunch of gals.

7)sprained my ankle on the way back to campus.damn,i twisted it all the way around and it got really sore.hobbled my way around and looked like an idiot.had to go to the uni clinic then of to the physiotherapists’ office(yeah,i had physio for a sprained ankle.talk about great healthcare)

8)hot physiotherapist.a hottie rubbing my feet and trying to make me feel better.what more could i ask fo right?the best part?i have an appointment with him again, thursday morning…oh yeah!

9)ppl from home webcamming me and i could do the same coz my comps busted.was crying coz i was so stressed out when i couldnt figure out why the damn webcam wouldn’t work(crying into the mic "helllo~can you hear me,dammit?"*sob*sob*)

so far those are the highlights that coloured my first week in auckland.there are a few more incidences that i choose to keep discreet(something along the lines of mcd’s,4 really hungry girls,2am and a drive thru).

im not missing home as much as i thought i would.honestly,i just fee like im in another state.but maybe i feel this way becoz everyting is happening so fast and i havent had the time to stop and think about stuff.im sure those cold lonely winter nights will make me miss home LOADS.till then,im just looking forward to trips to the physiotherapist office. ;)

leaving Taiping

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

two weeks have come and gone. many things have happened during those times. i can’t believe how heart breaking it was to leave taiping. the teacher there made our stay so pleasant and the darling EMC’s made each day a little more interesting.

i was not expecting to grow fond of students so fast, but it’s so inevitable. how can teacher not have a favourite student? it’s just human nature to be a little more interested to hear what one particular person want sto say because u might favour that person better.

i miss those kids already.

tyra( keep in touch dear! i’ll always be here for you!),

rhoe (you’re GREAT! don’t let things get to you too much.)

nadhir & afiq (SAYANG you two SO MUCH!!!always lepaking with us in the DS and asking stupid question.you guys are so funny! we have to meet up in KL)

ferd (a.k.a the biggest cheetah girls fan above 10 years old, ive said enough about u in your glitter book ;P)

afifi (that night at the gazeebo…hehehehe)

danial(kopitiam session partner/mum with 10 kids…wakakakakaka)

the other danial (when u take your braces off, be sure to post me a pic!!!!)

safwan( "teacher, cannot eat anymore la." *grabs for the prawn flavoured keropok* hehehehe)
