i found my spot

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

so i find myself spending another afternoon lunging on the couches in the trc library.
i’m comfortably settles into the cushyness of the pillows and i’ve finally figured out a way to stick the curtains at a spot that won’t block the sun from radiating on me.but unfortunately, the moment i actually figure out how to do this, the sun gets stuck behind a MASIVE fly-by cluod that takes FOREVER to pass.
so between the fleeting seconds of sunshine that somehow seeps throught the cracks of the clounds,i sit down yet again to enjoy another book from the shelves of the trc library.this time, i chose the annoted alice.i havent finished the previous book but i’m on a roll here.
so im sitting in the sun, enjoying whatever warmth i can get.i think i finally get it why they call it being sun-kissed,coz the sun on your skin really does feel like the lightest kiss.you can barely feel it but its there and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.i LOVE it.no wonder cats can spend hours just lounging in the sun.
im considering doing my hair again
just adding more colour into it.a few more shades of red and purple in streaks.im hoping dion will be of service again.i like his work the last time so ive got him in mind to do the job.waiting for the moulahs to come in first.hehehe.

my first day

Monday, August 27th, 2007

it’s 1ish in the afternoon, and i’m sprawled out on the couch in the TRC library, lounging with a stack of books by my side to keep me  company.outside, the sun is shining and a pleasant cool breeze is blowing thru sheer curtains.
looks like rain.
true enough, steady, slanted sheets of mist-fine rain start pouring down.it’s not the kind of rain that you’d get all moppy about coz you can’t go out, but it isn’t exactly light enough to make you want to go out either.it’s just pleasant.
my book of choice is Mr. Nice, a true story froma conman who seems to be really likeable despite the fact that he’s on the Most Wanted list in UK and USA.i’ve got a couple of other books to tickle my fancy as well, but at the moment,i’m gonna keep them stacked on the table next to my bed so i can read myself to sleep if ever i need to.
i’m exhausted from the morning mental workout of researching and typing up my langtcng essay in two hours flat(a feat i’m very proud that i’ve accoplished) and the afternoon workout of spending 20 minutes in the gym(yes, i know its not a lot but somewhere in that 20 minutes, fedde le grand’s Put your HAnds up for Detroit started blasting on the radio and i went bonkers on the treadmil just to keep up)
im thinking how much time i should spend getting ready for work.no matter how much time i put aside to get ready for work, i still end up going to work a little late, which means i have to rush to get through traffic and end up being flustered anyway.it’s a vicious cycle.so far,the holidays have gotten off to a prety good start.
i wouldn’t mind spending my daytime up at uni doing some studying.maybe some time during the next week,i’ll plan a trip with the girls to go to rangitoto or spend some time on mission bay just for hecks.it would be fun.
the idea of missing merdeka is quite depressing.i would love to be part of the festivities and at least join in the fun and mark the occasion.there isn’t even a whiff of celebration, except maybe for a merdeka dinner hosted by god-knows-who with ticket prices marked at 50 bucks a pop.thanks but no thanks.anyways, the only other thing im looking forward to is the trc dinner.that should be loads of fun.unless of course the malaysian contingent decides to skip that coz its fasting month and yada yada yada yada.not that i would mind, but it would just mean that there would be a lot of empty seats.oh well.
this is one long blog.

this is post #200

Monday, August 20th, 2007

wow,i cant believe this is the 200th post on my blog.i feel like own this baby…awh….
anyways, going back to reality, the holidays are coming(YAY!),im not really looking forward to hols coz i dun have anything plannd at the moment and im sure, even tho theres hype to go out and have fun,the enthusiasm is bound t rub off at some point.
so the plan is this,to work my bootay off so that i dont waste my entire holiday by being an unproductive bum, lounging aronud in my pjs all day(which is what i would usually do).as to whether anyone will actually hire me,that is uncertain.but!i will not give up!!!!!yes,i d o have a steady job now and yes i will continu to work there during the hols.but with all my spare time,i should be doing something constructive…….
and being a bum is not an option.and studying 24/7 is not an option either.
hmmmmmmmm……..hampeh tul.
oh and btw,to anybody reading who happens to have too phat’s wanna battle track(its an oldies,i know, but its a keeper) please send over to me.i like the song and i want to hear….thanks!

i feel so sick

Monday, August 13th, 2007

man i thought id start the day with some healthy cereal for breakfast.but i kinda think i overdid it.i wasnt really paying attention to how much i was eating.and the thing about these kinds of cereal is the make u feel really full.but it happens gradually.
so here i was, poring over lecture notes, stuffing my face with another faceful of cereal and,PANG!the feeling creeps in.man, one minute u feel completely empty, then next minute,i feel like i just ate a bag of cement.im so weighed down at this moment its ridiculous!i think im gonna swap cereals from now on and im sticking to the unhealthy coco puffs.fuck it if they give u cancer,i couldnt care less.we’re all gonna die anyways :P

my review of potter

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

i think the whole potter series went downhill after order of the phoenix.
the structure of the books were predictable;build it up with a twist at the end.i tot it was brilliant at d start but by book 4 it was getting old.
sure, rowling ties up the loose ends very neatly.she obviously thought every detail through ie the explainations about everything like the hocruxez, snapes loyalty, little details that tied everything togther.that was what i was expecting to find in this book,so im happy that the author DID supply these bits to the story
HOWEVER……..reading harry running around the country was so difficult.not only boring, but i think half of it was unnecessary.its one thing to keep ur readers on edge, but to do it through out the entire book is a little tooo tiring.the surprises that kept popping up evry few pages was making surprises boring.
MOST DISAPPOINTING OF ALL,after bulidng the series up for 10 years,i was UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED AND APPALED by the immensely short battle between Potter and Voldemort.OMG,BIIIIGGGGGGGG let down.i was expecting more.not potter and voldemort meet, cast one spell, and seeing that voldemort is not as powerful as he is,potter begins to yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak yak, renarrating everything we’ve read in the last 10 years, then kills voldemort with one single spell.ACKKKK!!!!!!!!WTF?????!!!!!!!!
and,oh,dont forget, everybody gets married after this defeat and make little bundles of joy coz none of them thought of pursueing careers and shit like that like they said they would in book whichever when they said theyd like to be this and that etc.who the heck gets married at 19???!!!!i certainly didnt expect these lot to.and what the heck is up with naming their kids after the characters that died.
oh yeah, thats another thing, why kill so many ppl?i dun get it.like after  cedric,i was expecting at least one person to die in each book.but in this one,too many ppl die,im just like, ahhh, whatever.Fred dying was unexpectd and definitely a blow.lupin and tonks’ death were also very touching.but everybody else was just blah.
i feeel so sorry for snape tho.he’s story was really sad too.and ive always like him coz hes got sass.but to read about how much he loved lily.man, that was tragic.
still, with the few really well designed pluses in the book, the overwhelming number of minuses makes the last installment of the potter series a disappointing read.but im glad that its over. Finally
